I can. I will. Make a Difference

30 Hour Famine Camp 2009.

"The 30 HOUR FAMINE is World Vision’s annual flagship event where over one million people, mostly youth, take a stand of solidarity against global hunger and issues affecting the poor. Since 1985, thousands of young people in Singapore have joined this international youth movement to show that they, too, care about the poor and the hungry."

We were required to fast for 30hours

In one of the activites, we lived in a simulation of the environment of the poor where we had to work and earn credits.

Almost all the girls in our family had to prostitute themselves and came back with HIV!

Opps.

The camp was super fun and meaningful (:

Hi All

You've been selected to be an Host for the Youth Olympic Games 2010! You'll be one of those rahrahing the crowd at competition venues.

From here, we do hope to see your wholehearted committment once training begins in May 2009. As Mark mentioned, trainings can take place from once a week, to once every two weeks and MOE is going to make Sports Presentation a CCA. Cuts may still take place as we streamline our selection. Although you'll be considered as volunteers only, I'm sure your participation in the very first YOG right here in our own country will be a very valuable experience.

We will be in touch again with regards to the training schedule. So do check your mails regularly. If you have another email account that you prefer me to mail to, please let me know. Also, please fill up this volunteer detail form and send it back to me. Thanks!

(See attached file: volunteer details.doc)
